The latest release of this glorious Syrah-led blend from the genius Duncan Savage

Tasting Notes

The nose is seductively dark, deep and broody with black bramble berries, mulberries, tar, grilled herbs and savoury, barbecued meats. But like all great wines, there are multiple complexing nuances on the nose ... violets, purple jasmine, rose petals, and one feels no rush to sniff and then move on to tasting. There is a ponderous beauty to the wine. Like the previous three vintages, the Savage red shows incredible precision, elegance and poise. The seamless palate overflows with savoury black berry fruits, black plum, cured meats, and tart red cherries on the finish. The 2014 definitely stands out for its incredible finesse, elegance and femininity. Already at this youthful stage, there is such integration and balance making it a true pleasure to drink. I love the fine lacy tannins and fresh acids that combine to underpin the palate. This wine is very much a tale of less is more and possibly one of Duncan Savage's best efforts yet. Drink from 2016 to 2028+ (95+/100 Greg Sherwood MW)
