The second vintage of this outstanding Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah blend. Fresh and juicy!

Tasting Notes

The nose plush, lush, and very expressive combining an attractive red berry confit ripeness with true old world Languedoc sappy, spicy, stalky, savouriness. There are alluring lifted fruit notes of raspberries, red cherries and exotic quince and yellow peach stones. On the palate, there is such attention to detail with the Cinsaut, Grenache and Syrah blended seamlessly. Like the 2014, the cool 13 Abv and fresh, electric acids are a prominent hallmark shaping this wine. Supremely balanced fruits dance on the tongue... wild forest strawberries, red bramble berries, and red pithy cherries. This wine promises excitement, optimism and energy and does not fail to deliver. This is no frivolous wine mind you, with its serious structure, chalky tannins and sappy spice lingering long on the finish. It's a wine for the new, modern generation of connoisseurs. Drink now to 2026+ (95/100 Greg Sherwood MW)

Press Note:

Neal Martin: "The 2015 Follow The Line is 58% Cinsault with Grenache and Syrah, including around 30% whole cluster fruit, mostly picked earlier. It has a reticent bouquet at first, gradually unfurling with blackberry leaf, cranberry and black pepper aromas, developing subtle garrigue scents with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple red berry fruit, caressing in the mouth, not powerful but very well balanced with peppercorns and undergrowth towards the finish. 91 points" Savage Follow The Line 2015 Western Cape (13%) A wine that just gets better with every vintage, this Cinsault-based cuvée with Grenache and Syrah comes from Darling and Piekenierskloof. Old wood, 20% whole bunches, great vineyards and one of the most gifted winemakers in the Cape have resulted in a pure, refreshing, almost Pinot Noir-like red that’s floral, complex and deceptively light on colour and tannin.
