Delicate, fine, nettle, super tang, refreshers-like finish. Elegance with a very pretty finish and good length. This is much more subtle that a Kiwi Sauvignon.. It just has everything you want from Sauvignon - not too much and not too little.

Tasting Notes

Delicate, fine, nettle, super tang, refreshers-like finish. Lifted floating aromas. Elegance with a very pretty finish and good length. This is much more subtle that a Kiwi Sauvignon.. It just has everything you want from Sauvignon, not too much and not too little. Francois Leclair, 4th generation owner and winemaker at Domaine de la Rochette, is among a group of local winemakers intent on driving up the levels of quality in the Touraine appellation. He has even gone as far as succceeding in creating a new appelation - Chenonceaux, that was awarded it's AOC in 2011.

Press Note:

Decanter "25 Under £25" "Not as pungent as New Zealand Sauvignon and not as flinty as a Sancerre, this shows pretty and forward flavours of apple, garden peas and a squeeze of lemon. It's weighty and ripe but remains vibrant and fresh, with pristine acidity. 90 points" Bruce Palling, The Week: "For those who adore the sharp focus and tautness of classic Sauvignon Blanc, this is the wine to purchase. This producer uses slower fermentation techniques, which is reminiscent of Pouilly-Fume. It has a slightly stonier and flintier element, with a greater overlay of citrus than is usual from these wines." Thewinegang.com: "A Sauvignon with fresh breeziness at its core. With it perky herbaceous edge and green apple crunch plus a pretty streak of elderflower it really is - as the name suggests - spring in a glass."
