Out of the single vineyard series, the Schist has the most structure to it. Red and black fruit, fynbos and lavender plus a touch of white pepper on the nose. Excellent fruit purity, fresh acidity and a nicely grippy finish. Intense but not weighty, intricate and refined, extraordinary long on the finish – truly memorable.

Press Note:
Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate, 94 points: "The 2013 Schist Syrah does not quite possess the same delineation as the 2013 Iron Syrah on the nose, with touches of dark chocolate infusing the red berry fruit, later clove and Provençal herbs. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy ripe tannin. This has a bit more body than the 2013 Iron, with more sumptuousness, freshness and corpulence with smooth, slightly gamey red berry fruit, truffle and undergrowth. Once the aromatics, open this might be the pick of recent releases from Mullineux. Drink 2018-2035"
"Focused black cherry fruit nose is very fresh and detailed. Lovely structure on the palate with pure, mineral black fruits. Complete wine, with freshness, structure and beautifully detailed fruit. 96/100" - Jamie Goode. wineanorak.com
