An utterly glorious Cava from a long-established, traditional family producer.
Softly stewed apples mingle with preserved lemon, almond nuttiness and a fresh loaf of sourdough.
Gramona is a family-owned estate in San Sadurni d'ANoia, the heartland of Cava. Traditional, proud and quality-driven in their winemaking endeavours, this estate has got so much soul. We love Cava, and this is one of the very best we have tried. Forget all of your preconceptions about cheap supermarket Cava, off-dry and more than a little woolly - this is the bees knees!
A Gran Reserva Brut Nature, made with native Xarel-lo and Macabeo grapes from the family's own III Lustros vineyard site (the first they obtained owned after establishing themselves in 1850), this wine is all about finesse and precision. Trust us, and take this leap into the wonderful world of Cava - you will not regret it!
Softly stewed apples mingle with preserved lemon, almond nuttiness and a fresh loaf of sourdough. Drinking absolutely beautifully now, but could also benefit from a couple of years in the cellar.
Disgorged in May 2013.
70% Xarel-lo, 30% Macabeo Gran Reserva Cava that has been lees aged for 6 years.
