Beautiful old vine Grenache - bright cherry fruit with a pleasing crunch
Top notes of violet and concentrated cranberry and raspberry are underlined by dark cassis and an almost marzipan like rounded edge from the oak. The palate sees more of the same with savoury spice and cooked red fruits. A touch of residual sugar keeps the high alcohol and tannins in check while a smooth acidity and a touch of the herbal retains freshness and leaves you wanting more!
From the oldest Grenache vineyard in South Africa which has only 12 rows of vines! It has floating aromas of wild strawberries, lavender and rose petals. A hint of supple leather and dried cranberries and bracken – on the nose its all about the perfume than the weight. The palate is very polished and weightless with cool mineral undertones, cloves and wild herbs. The finish is long and silky. A tip top old vine Grenache!
