Exceptionally fine pure linear Chardonnay for this price. Comes from the great Yabby Lake Vineyard in Mornington Peninsula. Matthew Jukes, Top 100 wines 2011 "Red Claw, in 2009, has extraordinary minerality and depth which tightens its body, corseting the fruit into a drop dead gorgeous hourglass shape"

Press Note:
David Williams, The Guardian 20 Best Whites for Christmas 2012 "The brilliant Yabby Lake are making some of Australia's finest pinot noir and chardonnay at the moment, in a restrained but luminous style that is just thrilling to drink. This blistering chardonnay, from their more affordable Red Claw second label, crackles with mineral acidity beneath some very generous, carefully oaked fruit."
The Wine Detective.co.uk "I must say, the Chardonnays are the real deal – the absolute stand out of the range for me. The 2009 was a terrific vintage – very balanced. This wine is tight, limey, focused and long – full of vim and vigour"

2009 Red Claw Chardonnay
He has done it again ace Tom Carson is on a roll (does he stop rolling?) at Yabby Lake. Red Claw, in 2009, has extraordinary minerality and depth which tightens its body, corseting the fruit into a drop dead gorgeous hourglass shape. The estate Chardonnay is one of the finest of its kind in the country and Block 6, sadly only available in miniscule quantities, is set to be a cult wine in no time at all, too.
