A few weeks ago, I met for the fourth time with Vitalii from Odesa. That's where he and his family live. He was with his winemaker and his daughter trying to raise awareness for the wines of Ukraine. He runs one of the Ukraine's best wineries. In fact, having tried quite a few now, the wines from here are the best I've had from Ukraine. The 2022 Chardonnay is delicious now, as the note by Julia Harding MW describes below. And I really like the Cabernet Sauvignon a lot, too, which has opened up, and shows classy, fine notes that would show very well in a blind tasting with Bordeaux that cost £10 more per bottle, and is good with burgers, steak, lamb, and we also drink it with whatever we've cooked, and it's great.
